in the opening scene of batman the dark knight a close up of the jokers mask is used to expand the uncertainty and curiosity concerning the jokers actions. the establishing shot used when the men are using the zip wire is effective to establish the setting and the joker and his men are planning something big which could affect the city of gotham and portrays his criminality.  the over-the-shoulder shot around (0.8 to 0.10)of one of the heist men implicates something illegal is about the happen.the extreme close up to the jokers at the end when he is resolved as the remaining member of the heist, and we usually associate clowns with bad images or childhood nightmares( for example the 1990 film it) .This scene is relevant to the film as it is portrayed as a fantasy film that is grounded in to reality. The characters of Batman and The Joker do not exist in real life but the setting and the way it is film makes us believe that the events of this film could happen even though it is a fantasy, this is what we aim to do if we want to construct a film. This creates irony of the mind power the joker has as the power he has to initiate only himself to survive the heist can be conceived as pretty impressive.
